GMEA Information

This year our CMENC members will be required to pay a ten-dollar ($10.00) registration fee, versus the $100.00-plus fee they will pay as a professional music educator once they graduate. This minimal registration fee affords our CMENC students full and complete access to all GMEA clinics, workshops, concerts, and exhibits during the event. Additionally, the GMEA Board of Directors hosts a formal reception for our CMENC students during the conference so that students can meet and get to know those elected to positions of leadership in our state organization. This reception has been a tremendous success the past two years, and students have been most appreciative of the time given to them and the importance our state organization placed on them as future music educators.

CMENC Conference’s Schedule’s Posted

We here at CMENC Georgia hope you had a nice and productive summer! The semester is already in full swing and it’s time for the CMENC state conferences to ensue! We have two wonderful conferences planned at both Kennesaw State University for our northern members and again at Mercer for our southern members!

Please remember you need to be a member of CMENC to attend these conferences – you can do so by going to the Forms section of this web site (MENC prefers the online method!).

The dates and schedules to both conferences are up in the Dates section of this web site. Remember this is an amazing opportunity to network and learn from your peers as well as faculty from other schools. It is an essential growing experience for us as education majors!

This is a great networking tool for us as a community and it would be great to see it used effectively. Enjoy!

New Photo Gallery

The site is going through a plethora of updates today. I have added a new version of the photo gallery. This gallery is not connected to my facebook and is its own indepedent software so that I can upload and archive the pictures in the quality and size I want.

If you have any photos you would like to share, please don’t hesistate to e-mail me those as well!

2009 GMEA Stats

An E-Mail from Dr. Gregory:

“It looks as if we had over 500 CMENC people in attendance, counting the All-College Band and Chorus members along with the regular CMENC membership. Over 400 registered at our booth and there were over 100 in the two college groups. We estimated that somewhere around 250 to 300 members attended the reception. Good numbers. Great convention.”

Thank you to all who attended the conference. A lot was accomplished and we all learned something new! There is now a brand new page on the site entitled “Photos“. You can check this web site out and see all the great pictures from the conference and all of our future events!

GMEA In Service Conference: January 29th – 31st

We hope everyone has had a wonderful winter break and are ready to go back to classes. This is just a reminder that the annual GMEA In Service Conference is going to be taking place January 29th – 31st. This is a great opportunity for music education majors to network and get to know how the music association of Georgia works! There are many excellent sessions that you can see on the conference schedule. Our goal is to have 500 CMENC members at the conference this year, help us make that a reality!
